These works were produced between September and December 2001, and are inspired in large part by meditations arising from an annual trip to the mountains with my father and brother, and conversations with my new friend Herman P. Anderson. Herman, an inventor of patented hydrogen fuel systems for cars, has challenged my understandings of chemistry, quantum physics and energy itself. The mysteries of our universe continue to intrigue me and I hope that at least in some small way these works reflect that fascination. The canvasses are hand finished with 4 coats of UV varnsish to protect the pigmented inks. The canvas was produced just outside of my Hometown, Kingpsport, TN, by Holliston Mills.
