ANKH 3D Lenticular
The Ankh is the Egyptian symbol for everlasting life...the yin-yang is the Taoist symbol for balance....putting the two together is for balance through life, through eternity. The open ended hallway is an allusion to the Old English metaphor of life. A bird flying in the darkness enters the window of a tavern; inside with people, warmth, food, light, that is life. The bird flys on through the tavern out the other window, back into the darkness, into the unknown, death. In the picture we see only in the hallway of time.We don’t know what is beyond the doorway. If you look carefully, you will see that the shadows of the two ankhs overlap slightly as if they were holding hands.
This is reminiscent of Robert Fulgrum’s “All I Really Needed to Know I Learned in Kindergarden” book where here says: “And for goodness sake hold hands and stick together. :> The swirling patterns on the wall originated in video feedback and suggest an open loop or the self repeating patterns of fractal mathematics.
